Heard this first from Dougie MacLean, who does more verses than I have below. These verses are from a Tannahill Weavers CD. If anyone has the additional verses I'd appreciate you posting them. Thanks.

THE PLOOBOY LADDIES

Doon in yonder den there's a plooboy lad,
An summer's day he'll be a' my ane

Chorus:
And sing laddie aye, and sing laddie oh
The plooboy laddies are a' the go

I will hae nae miller w' his dusty coat
The merchants gear isnae worth a groat

I love him weel, I love nae but him
I love the very cairt he hurls in

And when I think of my plooboy's smile
It's in his arms I would bide a while

I see him coming frae yonder toon
Wi' a his ribbons hangin roon an roon
