"Why man creates," has always been an an easy philosophical question.

Man creates, because he was created in the image of God, and God creates.

Gen1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 
26 - Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness....
27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
