Most nautical singers know Dick Swain by his adaptation for singing of "The Old Figurehead Carver" based on a poem by Hiram Cody of New Brunswick. Dick added the lovely chorus and channeled the tune.

He was a wonderful traditional style singer and had a great sense of humor, i.e., his librarian chanties.

He will be missed but not forgotten.
