Subject: RE: Song Req: 'There was China Man...'
Well, here is the version of "There was a man from Chinatown" that my mother used to sing to me and I, of course, sang and taught to my son and daughter. I've only seen one other version on this thread that talks about "rolling him down like a Beecham pill.
Here goes....

THERE WAS A MAN FROM CHINATOWN

There was a man from Chinatown

His name was Chickeracka Choo Chin Chow

His legs were short and his feet were small

And the poor little fellow couldn’t walk at all

(Chorus)

Chickeracka Choo Chin china conora

Con de nora iddy widdy wee

Oko poko hit ‘im on the boko

Iddy pie iddy pie im pim pim

And when his servants carried him about

They carried him about with a merry go shout

And when they got to the top of the hill

They rolled him down like a Beechams pill

(Chorus)

Chickeracka Choo Chin china conora

Con de nora iddy widdy wee

Oko poko hit ‘im on the boko

Iddy pie iddy pie.... im.... pim.... pim
