Jumping on the Kamala bus was pushback at the Democrats who were trying to talk Biden out of the race as much as they were supporting her - because as AOC pointed out - many of the moneyed folks were behind the scenes wanting both of them off the ticket. By donating right away and volunteering right away - all of the small money folks were making it clear that Harris had to stay on the ticket.
