Thread Name: Earl Robinson stories?
Subject: RE: Earl Robinson stories?
Earl Robinson is one of the most songwriters and singers to have songs that he wrote. in 2010 I was still doing my band but through this time I began to look up artists like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie and others. At one time I looked up Earl's story and could not believe how remembered he was. I needed more songs to perform with my band Braveheart and wanted to sing his song Black and White. My friend said to me it's a children's song that the folk we played for would not like. When I split up my band in 2005 I now review songs including Black and White and Joe Hill and just yesterday I reviewed his 1943 song We're Keeping Score of 1944 a song he wrote words but not the tune. I now sing at the Captains Bar in Edinburgh and also have an Alexa that I play his music. I was only born in 1980 but got into music and history. I often say to myself that it would be nice to see him play and think that we can build childrens toys to play songs like Black and White or get ice cream vans to play some of his well remembered songs. thankyou from Joe.
