We are into uncharted territory, since no other US presidents have been put on trial, let alone come this close to being imprisoned. Many argue that Dubya should have been sent to The Hague for war crimes for Iraq; he is at least guilty of following really bad advice from the hawks in his administration. But even there, he was in the realm of "normal human being." Trump in prison - they may need to restore and reopen some abandoned facility that is run jointly by the State (he was tried and convicted in New York) and the Secret Service.
