The complaint was that the electoral college favours the smaller states and gives the Republicans an advantage. My point was that, whatever their politics now, it was the Dems who put the system in place when it suited them. I think that the electoral college is a very poor, undemocratic way of electing a President but the Dems can't complain if the system they favoured has come back to bite them now that they have swung to the opposite political position.
