"Donald Trump's controversial pick for US attorney-general, Matt Gaetz, says he has decided to withdraw his name from consideration.

"The US Congress's House Ethics Committee had been considering releasing a report into allegations Mr Gaetz had engaged in sexual misconduct.

Mr Gaetz denies the allegations, which include that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl."
