Then on January 7 his remains are flown to Washington DC,
with a funeral procession that will first proceed to
the US Navy Memorial and then to
the US Capitol, where he will lie in state.

January 9 is the national day of mourning for Jimmy Carter.

That same day, Special Air Mission 39 flies Carter
back to Georgia.
