MaGoC, I found the recipe for the muffins on the internet and not in one of my trusted cookbooks. The type of flour wasn't specified so I used self raising flour but added the bicarb according to the recipe. Never again! But to minimise the chance of mistakes like that I don't store medicinal salts next to the bicarb. :-D
