No no! The washer RUNS on socks! and only new ones and NEVER pairs. I know this because I pin my socks together and never lose a whole pair, and the electrical bill went up. (Actually we all pin our socks together. I've been told to get a life, but actually I have one because I'm not always looking for socks. And I always have a safety pin if one is needed.)
