The kitchen table is fairly clear, but the kitchen counter (the peninsula next to the sink) is beginning to be crowded with garden produce. I picked two more eggplants today (ask Joe Offer about my garden eggplant) and there are tomatoes in various stages of ripeness on the windowsill while a squash resides in a ceramic colander. And there are bowls of red potatoes everywhere.

Since Joe isn't here, I'll give the summary: he was crossing the US a few years ago and stopped in Fort Worth for a couple of days of touring around. When he pulled up in the driveway it was close to dinner time so I walked over and poked around the garden and came up with a nice-sized eggplant, and made eggplant Parmesan for dinner.
