Oh dear! I would have thrown the bathrobe over the bat and then carried the garment outside and placed it on a table or chair and be ready to flip it open and head to the house so it could disengage and fly off. I've caught lots of birds indoors this way, with a jacket or large scarf. Good thing you could reach the breaker.

The little cat had a terrible morning; the capsule of various meds that I pop down his throat seems to have lodged in his cheek today, and when it started to dissolve and the bitter taste of the meds inside hit his tongue the poor guy slobbered all over. I was able to get some squeeze treat into his mouth to wash it down and neutralize the taste (I didn't want to try to remake a capsule my friend left for him in a pill caddy). We were both covered with cat food when that was finished.

Heat wave here still. The time of year that if a bicyclist has an accident they can be burned by the pavement, and walking a dog in the heat will blister their feet (yet people still do it!)

The garage is looking better as I toss some things and recycle others. The pathway in from the side door is much easier and there's enough clearance on both sides that people can open doors and climb into the SUV in the garage, not wait until it is pulled out into the driveway. I've always been able to park in the garage, but there have been times when it was a squeeze.
