GRANDFATHER Drumpf fled Bavaria to avoid the draft (soud familiar?) and went to the Klondike. He found gold by opening the "Arctic Hotel", a wayside tavern/brothel on the way to Dawson City. He took his "earnings" to NYC, where he bought real estate. Visiting Germany, he was to be arrested for draft-dodging but apparently money changed hands and he was allowed to return to the US.

Nice family. Makes me cautious about being an American of German descent.
