My pet new saying is the collateral, or possibly converse of a well known old one, it reads.
If something isn't worth doing - it isn't worth doing well.
This proved a useful rule to follow when presented by management with bloody stupid tasks which didn't make any sense and would just waste time which could be better spent on something genuinely useful.
