I'd really like to see this song tracked down to some printed source; I'm surprised I haven't run across it before. Sounds like something Ken Stephens might have written but it probably goes back to an earlier sea songs revivalist.

I still would not be surprised if the tune were similar to Brennan on the Moor. Wanna lay a bet?
