"A conglomerate lump next door to Europe" called the UK? Nah. Most Americans think of the big one as England and the little one as Ireland. If we think twice about it, we remember that Scotland and Wales (sorta) are separate. NOBODY here thinks of Cornwall at all, much less as distinct from the rest of the Big Island. Its hard enough to remember that the southern 3/4s or so of the Little Island is a different country.
