Barbara - Thank's for fixing up my post. I did a cut and paste - and sometimes that seems to work, and other times it doesn't - I can never tell until it comes up. The song came from a bit of street theatre at a Renaissance Faire - and the reason it keeps ending with "if only you'll say I may" is that the singer is proving his love by allowing the woman to make the decision about the marriage - in a social setting where she would (nominally) have no choice in the matter.MMario
