Doerflinger has it as "Our Jack's Come Home Today" & says it's reguarded by John O'Brien of Sailors' Snug Harbor as an old sea song despite it's shore origins. The music is in his "Shantymen & Shantyboys". I've been looking for ages for anymore of the sea version, than the one verse I have (Hint,Hint,Hint). On the LP, Beggers Velvet, they have a real nice version (not the Australian version). In their notes they say that an earlier unparodied version was found in Sussex (sea version) went to Australia & then came back as Our Jack (which is the version they do).
