Really listen, and turn the goddamn football game off while you are doing it. Make sure you both agree that each needs alone time, and, that that privacy is to be honored. If she runs into the bathroom to cry, dont kick the door down. Wait for her to come out (saying you are sorry for the upset will often do it) then hold her and tell her you love her. Come to think of it, why the hell am I still single?
