Thread Name: The Songs Writ for our Kids
Subject: RE: The Songs Writ for our Kids
I wrote this for Hammerite when she was about five-ish. She has grey eyes that seem to take up whatever colour they like & at the time they had a lemon/blue tinge. It has a slow gentle tune. I never used to be able to sing it to her though, because she always filled up with tears when I got to the 'I am old' bit. Daft little moo!
Storm grey eyes Lemon blue, pure & true I see warm day skies Coming through & shining on you.
Cornfield hair Flying free in the breeze There is more light there Than the sun ever shone on me
(middle 8 thingy) I am old but I cannot grow dim While you shine in my eyes I will watch, I will wait, I will wonder What wonder transpires
Strong like the land Like the clay & the soil & the sand Stretch out your hand All the world is yours to command
