Thread Name: Lyr Req: Eleven More Months and Ten More Days
Subject: Lyr Add: ELEVEN MORE MONTHS AND TEN MORE DAYS
Wow! I can't believe I couldn't find this in DT.
Oh well, here goes from memory.
ELEVEN MORE MONTHS AND TEN MORE DAYS

A kind old lady called on me, she was just too good to live.
She asked me all about myself, my pedigree to give
She said to me "What brought you here" and the tears began to drop.
I said "A Black Maria and a great big Irish Cop"

Chorus..
In eleven more months and ten more days
I'll be out of the calaboose.
In eleven more months and ten more days
They're gonna turn me loose.

A stranger passing by my cell, just the other day.
I called him from my window and I said "Now stranger say,
can you tell me what time it is" And he looked me in the face,
said "What do you care what time it is, you ain't goin' any place."

Chorus..
A guy in another cell asked me, "How long are you in here for"
I told him I was here eleven months and ten days more
"I'm in here 'till tomorrow" he said. I said "you're a son of a gun,
You're a lucky guy" He said "Hell Why, tomorrow I'm gonna be hung"

Chorus..
Another guy with a ten year stretch got three years off his list,
for being a model prisoner, so I shook him by the fist.
They're having a celebration for that lucky son of a gun,
because his Father's awful proud to have such a wonderful son.

Chorus..
We play baseball once a week, you should see the score
Every player steals the base, they've stolen things before.
We would like you folks to see us when we play
but they built a wall around the place to keep the crowds away.

Chorus..

I'm sure there were more verses we used to sing but I can't recall them at the moment. Bert.
