I was playing the dulcimer a lot when I was listening to Priscilla Herdman's Waterlilly album a lot, and pretty much anything on that album works. I've also liked a lot of dougie MacLean songs on dulcimer. Now as for Zappa, I'll have to check it out!! 'Spaw, I had recurring dreams about playing electric mountain dulcimer while in college.
