Sorry about that last blank there-- my fingers appear to have minds of their own (this happens when I type and when I play the guitar). I wanted to say that in my opinion, the best way we can honour those who have died to defend our rights and freedoms is to make sure we don't take those freedoms-- the incredible fortune that those of us in democratic societies enjoy--for granted. Too many of us don't vote, and I can't help but think that no matter how well entrenched, or bravely defended, democracy may be, it will die if we don't use it.
