In case anyone thinks that I am maligning French Canadians My best man is a French Canadian married to a woman from England; Godfather to my son, and part Algonquin. He is a man who is as close to me as a real brother. I lived in the Province of Quebec for five and a half years, and love the place. Quebec city is one of the most loveliest sights I have ever seen. One of my best friends is an English immigrant married to a French Canadian girl. Their children call me Uncle/Oncle; and one (I was a regular babysitter)rarely spoke English with me until she was a teenager. The politics of Quebec, however, leave much to be desired.
