Hi Shambles, I'd completely forgotten about the Sambles bank and light vessel, just shows how fickle memory is. I would think your derivation is probably correct, but don't know. I heard the news about the automation of the last light house, North Foreland is close to my home town of course. Light houses in New Zealand have been automated for some years now.
