Can't believe that nobody mentioned the Salvation Army. They've even got a organized band and established venues.

Never tried their services out of musical necessity, but they sure came through during the year or so after the war that I spent as a professional hitchhiker. Life was never better. But then, those were 'kinder and gentler' times.
