I understand McVeigh claimed to have committed this horrible crime. Certainly he deserves punishment.

But I am not now nor could I ever be in favor of state-sanctioned execution.

Damien Echols sits on Death Row in Arkansas and a good many people believe he is innocent of the crimes he was convicted of. What a shame if he, an inocent young man, were to die merely because the state called that a fitting punishment for him, even though there is always a possibility that he was found guilty erroneously...
