The Levy site has 18 mentions (some duplicates) of Grecian Bend, including several with illustrations. LOC has only one~~apparently by 1870, where their online collection begins, the fad was fading. Surprisingly, Duke has none.I found this on the net: THE DICTIONARY OF PHRASE AND FABLE BY E. COBHAM BREWER, FROM THE NEW AND ENLARGED EDITION OF 1894~~An affectation in walking assumed by English ladies in 1875.The silliness spread to America and other countries which affect passing oddities of fashion.
Either the English Grecian Bend was something different or Mr. Brewer did not know what he was talking about.
