Subject: RE: Lyr Req: wexford boyes
I think it must be the P.J.McCall song The Boys of Wexford you refer to. I've never heard anything called Wexford Boys and definitely nothing called Wexford Boyes that sounds a bit "stage Irish" to me. Ian Campbell Group recorded it many years ago as did Luke Kelly, with The Dubliners , I think. Bought may still be available on C.D. If you do get it, please note that in the line that includes the words Bargy Man, the word Bargy is not pronounced Barge-ee as Kelly and others call it, bur Bar- Ghi, ghi as in that butter concoction. Hope this is of help. From a born Bargy Man, Mariner.
