The Simon Park Orchestra? did the theme for Van Der Valk, the Dutch Detective. That tune was called Eye Level, and I hated it, mostly because I was in a schools' Brass Band (apostrophe in correct place - it contained members from several scools) and it the the Flavour of the Month that year, as far as annoying tunes went.
My favourites were Souza Marches - The Thunderer, in particular, and stuff actually written for Brass Bands. I lived just down the Hill from Queensbury, home of the Black Dyke Mills brass band. I am told that they had trouble with the name when touringg America, as people expected coloured lesbians, or is that just another Urban Legend?
