Careful, 'Spaw, or I'll make you watch reruns of "Popeye Theater" -- that was my favorite show as a kid. It was at 6:00 on WFIL-TV, Channel 6 in Philadelphia. The host was Sally Starr, a blonde in a cowgirl outfit, who I later found out was often soused on the set. (Fortunately, as a 6-year-old I didn't have a lot of experience with alcoholics, so I never figured that part out.) I LOVED those Popeye cartoons! Except for the Goons, those big guys with the long noses and fur around their wrists and ankles.....they really gave me the creeps! The movie? Guess I'll have to give it another try. I can't remember whether I liked it or not the first time around.
