A few years ago, when Grant Baynham started doing folk festivals, I met him a couple of times. The first time, was in a pub where a few of us were sat having a quiet(ish) song/tune session. Grant walked in, asked if he could join us, and not only contributed to everything that was played/sung, but took it to places it had never been before. I had the 'dubious' pleasure of being accompanied by him. I say dubious, not because it was unpleasant, anything but, but because his accompaniment had me drooling so much I just wanted to sit in the corner and listen to it. The breaks between verses seemed to get longer and longer while I scraped my chin off the floor, and tried to get my brain back in gear for the next verse.
A few weeks later, we met again, at another festival. He stopped, chatted for a bit, then went off and demolished another session.
Not only is he an excellent songwriter, incredibly funny performer, and superb guitarist, he's a nice fella too.
Some people make you sick!!!!! :-)
