Unfortunately, CET and Sharon, some "prayer request" type threads in the past have escalated into horrendous flame wars, of the "your god isn't a real god (or doesn't exist at all)" sort. It seems that some people of one religious bent just can't help being offended by the religious activities of people of some other religious bent, and further some people of a non-religious bent seem to get bent out of shape altogether if anything remotely resembling religious activity is even whispered about.

At least, this has happened, and more then once, sadly, in the past. Thus, Joe's remarks.

It would be nice if everyone could just "leben und leben lassen" (as the man dancing with the bear said in "Cabaret" -- live and let live) but unfortunately not everyone is capable of it.

Now watch, this will be the post that starts the flaming. Sigh. (e.g. "How dare you say that all atheists/religious people/Christians/Wiccans/whatever are blah blah blah" -- as if I said anything about "all" of any group!)
