One last whack on the dead horse & I'm thru-

The fact that Dubya "won" is a temporary misfortune that the country will get thru with some pain; we've survived similar misfortunes before. The real tradgedy for the country is the elastic morality and corrupt tactics employed to obtain that "win" AND the fact that there are people that see nothing wrong with employing such tactics and urge others to "get over it". THAT is going to have negative repercussions for the political system down the line.

Some folks seem to view elections as a sort of football match- I think them of more import than a childish game in which "winning is everything".
