Well, my friends, you learn something every day. I was raised with the stories of my people and have more than a passing knowledge of its language and dialects. I am not fluent, but I can figure it out usually. But I had never heard one of the wee folk referred to as "clu/racha/n" before. But that is the answer I got, and it seems to fit in the context of the line you gave. This came from an Irish speaker in one of the gaeltachtai. And please give Barbara my regards when you see her.
All the best,
Mick Lane
