Thread Name: ADD: I Ain't Got No Home in This World (Guthrie)
Subject: RE: I Ain't Got No Home - Guthrie
Three footnotes:

1. Guthriewrote "I Ain't Got No Home" to the tune of "I Can't Feel At Home In This World Anymore," a hymn recorded by the Carter Family.

2. Guthrie parodied his own song with "I Can't Feel At Home On the Bowery Anymore," written after he was the house guest of Will and Herta Geer in their 5th Avenue apartment in New York City.

3. You might try this verse in lieu of one of Guthrie's:

My brothers and my sisters are sinking in a hole,
That does wonders for the pocketbook but is murder on the soul,
And since I have decided I will not be a whore,
I ain't got no home in this world anymore.
