Much as I love a lot of old time country music, many of the songs are so maudlin and sappy that they should be labeled emetics. Several are present on the otherwise wonderful album Shall the Circle Be Unbroken, e.g. "Wreck on the Highway," and "Momma and Daddy are Dead." They almost sound like vicious parodies of country music. And who can forget "Footprints in the Snow" I know I keep trying.
