Can't see how input from USA would help
Of course it would help. TOURISM!!! If they get the message that this kind of policy is going to stop Americans going to Weymouth,or even stop people coming to the UK, that is a serious reason for them to worry.
It's not so much the human rights issue that should concern you - that's more for people here to sort out. No point in having Americans tell us off for it, that just invites responses about pots calling the ketle black. (P)
But if you'd rather go on holiday to places where you can join in sessions, or sing and make music when you want to, you are going to stay away from places where that isn't true, and it's only sensible to let them know so they can consider whether to change their policies.
