Child collected NO ballads or songs, merely published songs from other peoples' works. Of his sources, 25% of the texts came from books by Scott and Percy a further 15% from Ritson and Buchan. Books by a grand total of 7 authors account for 70% of the texts he used. (source Harker, Dave (1985) "Fakesong").GUEST, yumyum, I do sing songs I learned from my parents generation, from friends and from records and tapes. I don't think professor Child did.
