The book that accompanies the Bear Family box set "The Kingston Trio: the Guard Years" offers no help. It calls it a "non-English bouncer...a vocal vehicle for Nick Reynolds, who also co-wrote it." I think we all are in agreement that it is not English, but it begs the question of whether it is any legitimate language or just nonsense.
