Although not wishing to intrude on your monologue, surely it is more a question of delivery rather than actual material. For instance, a lot of early bluegrass was old time songs in a different musical arrangement. By definition a Jug Band needs a Jug - Skiffle doesn't! It is a question of style rather than content.
