Australia has declared a national day of mourning for tomorrow. Both for the massive death toll of Americans and for the, so far, 91 missing Australians.
Our gov't has also reaffirmed our obligation under the ANZUS treaty, a treaty between the US, Oz & NZ for mutual support & assistance in times of war. Because we supported the effort in the Gulf War, with a military presence, we also feel threatened by Middle-East generated terrorism. Our military has gone up one step in its degree of readiness, to State Amber.
Our Prime Minister, John Howard, was in Washington DC when the Pentagon was hit. He was able to bring back a first hand account of the tradegy and mood in the US.JG / F.M.E.
