I have enjoyed the song 'Green Fields of France' for some time, but have often wondered about 'The Flowers of the Forest' tune/song mentioned in the chorus. Having looked in Mudcats DigiTrad for the lyrics, I found that there was was one with the correct title, but was actually written well after, and in reply to, the song 'Green Feilds of France'.

Does anyone know the significance of the REAL 'Flowers of the Forest'mentioned, and know of any lyrics?
