I've always been an acoustic steel string player, but have been seriously contemplating getting an electric to assist in certain home recording projects.

I've played lots of electrics, and I guess when the time comes that I do buy, it will be a maple necked Strat with a natural ash finish and white pickguard, and some sort of older, smaller Fender amp.

I like the versatility that the Strat lends to a wide variety of music. (I also like the early Gibson Firebirds, but to find one in decent shape would likely be out of my financial range.) The Strat will do.
