Hi Kim C no Cookie,If you are the sort of person who can learn a new approach by reading a book, I highly recommend "Peak Performance: Mental Training Techniques of the World's Greatest Athletes, by Charles A. Garfield (1984) [it may be out of print, I haven't looked]. You'll have to perform a mental editing exercise, substituting "music" for "sport" and so on.
It is a very complete guide to getting the most out of yourself and being able to perform at a high level with ease and confidence.
Human Kinetics also has a few guides. I'll go look and come back and post again.
