How can you fit two accordians in one case?

If you stand them up on their bass plate end with the keyboards pointing up, you can put them in one in front of the other. But you can't close the lid.

What protection does it offer if the lid is up?

None whatsoever. But they don't need much protection when they're just sitting on the floor in my apartment.

And if it is possible how could anyone other than Arnold Swartznager carry a case with two accordians

I never go anywhere with both accordions, so it's never been an issue before now. However, I'm thinking about possibly taking both of them to the Getaway, and I'm having trouble deciding how I want to handle transporting them.

I really don't want to carry my Italian box in the case it came in, because it really does stink (it's old and very musty, and lined with icky crushed velvet), but I don't want either of them to get damaged, either.

Hmmm... what to do... what to do?
