Dear Gene, never thought I could help the master. My old tape of Wilf Carter has a slightly different set of lyrics (which I could transcribe if you like (things like "Pete Knight, king of rodeo fame" in the second line). As far as I can make out, the line you are looking for in my version is: "And lest he was out 'mongst the broncos, it seems he was never at rest". It could be "unless" he was out, but I think it is "And lest". Yours, Peter
