It's one of the few songs I know of that credit Richard Rodgers wrote for both words and music. It's called "The Sweetest Sounds," and it's from the 1962 show, "No Strings." Here are the complete lyrics, all one verse of 'em:
THE SWEETEST SOUNDS
(Richard Rodgers, 1962)
The sweetest sounds I'll ever hear
Are still inside my head.
The kindest words I'll ever know
Are waiting to be said.
The most entrancing sight of all
Is yet for me to see.
And the dearest love in all the world
Is waiting somewhere for me
Waiting somewhere,
Somewhere for me
Pretty song, isn't it?-Joe-
